Delete account
Your account is yours. You can have it deleted at any time, without giving a reason and without being asked twice.
In the app — immediately, without going through me
Options → Account → „Delete account". After one confirmation it is done, the moment you press it. Nobody has to approve it, and I do not even find out about it.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app, send an informal message to amonandi@hotmail.com with the subject „Sternenreich: delete account".
So that I catch the right account, please include your display name in the game and send the message from the address of the Google account you sign in with. I will get back to you once it is done — as a rule within a few days, at the latest within one month.
What is deleted
- your account, that is the link to your Google account,
- your display name,
- all open sessions — you are signed out everywhere afterwards and can no longer sign in with this account,
- the device tokens for push notifications; no notification will arrive any more.
What stays — and why
If you are currently playing in a running round, your empire remains as a game piece — but it is no longer yours: it is taken over by a computer opponent and is called „Abandoned empire" from then on. Your player name disappears from there as well.
That is not an excuse but the way the game is built: a game is a shared state. Taking an empire out of the middle of a round would make everyone else's planets, fleets and battles inconsistent — including the events in their logs. Incidentally, the computer opponent that takes over plays a peaceful profile: whoever stops does not leave the other players an inheritance that attacks them.
Separate from that are the usual technical traces: the server logs and the nightly database backups. Both expire by themselves after 14 days; after that there is nothing left there either.
And the practice round?
The practice round against computer opponents needs no account and lives entirely on your device. It disappears as soon as you remove the app — you do not have to write to anyone for that.
